The construction of Phase 2 of the Riverview Stadium project has caused some issues with parking on Golden Aces Way. Please do not park on the east side of Golden Aces Way; you will be asked to move by the Mt. Carmel Police Dept or towed. Thank you for being patient as we anticipate a spectacular facility for our Aces and Fans!

District #348 Preschool for All will be conducting Child Find/Preschool Screenings for children ages 3 to 5 who are not yet enrolled in public schools and who are not kindergarten eligible. The screening checks each child’s progress in hearing, vision, speech, language, and coordination skills. This will give parents a better idea of how their child is progressing at this very young age before they begin school. This screening program is free and parents will receive immediate feedback on how their child is developing. Head Start personnel will also be present to explain their program and services. Screenings will be held on March 28th, March 29th, and March 30th. The screening procedure takes about 45 minutes, and appointments must be made so that children do not have a long wait period. Parents should call 618-262-4623 to make an appointment or to get more information.

Today, after school dismissal, a report was made to the junior high guidance counselor that a violent threat had been made towards two students and the entire junior high school. This information was immediately reported to the Mount Carmel Police Department. The Police Department engaged in an investigation and, with the assistance of the State’s Attorney, determined that enough evidence was available to file charges against the student. The student was immediately suspended out of school. The school will continue to assist in the investigation. I want to thank our guidance department and the Mount Carmel and Wabash County Police for their quick response to this situation.
