The Village Shop at MCGS:
The global pandemic has had far reaching consequences on students, including access to resources to meet their basic needs. But with challenges come new ways to deliver services. MCGS would like to announce that in order to meet the needs of our students, MCGS is providing a new resource called, The Village Shop, through a community partnership with Parkview Christian Church’s Caring Closet. Each year Parkview’s Caring Closet makes a difference in the lives of over 200 students in K-6th grade.
The global pandemic will not stop the good work of Parkview’s Caring Closet and with this new partnership students will still have access to needed resources. MCGS will be able to house, on site, items from Parkview’s Caring Closet to provide immediate assistance to students identified as in need. Students will be referred to The Village Shop by their teacher, principal, or school social worker based on need.
The Village Shop will provide school appropriate clothing, shoes, coats, undergarments, socks, and hygiene products. Students can visit The Village Shop once per school year and a referral form will be sent home for the parent.
MCGS will be hosting a Barbeque Dinner on Monday, March 22 from 4-6p.m. at MCGS. The dinner includes a barbeque sandwich, chips, cookie, and fruit cup. The cost of the dinner is a $5 donation. This fundraiser will provide funding to fully stock our items in The Village Shop.
MCGS thanks the community in advance for supporting this fundraiser for our students.
