Amy Powers, Social Worker at Mt. Carmel High School and Mt. Carmel Officer Peach let students experience how their driving can be impaired when under the influence of alcohol. Students in the Driver's Ed classes got to drive a Pedal car while wearing drunk goggles through a road course. Mrs. Powers and Officer Peach also spoke to the Driver's Ed classes to educate them on what alcohol does to the brain and to their body.
Students were also able to see how it is to be distracted when driving by wearing texting glasses through the road course.
Sheriff Morgan provided the Pedal Car and the goggles which were purchased via grants from State Farm Agent, Dan Schonert.
