MCHS Interact Club Teams up with Rise Against Hunger
It was definitely an eventful day for the Mt. Carmel High School Interact Club this Friday! Mrs. Laura Taylor and her Interact Club, among other clubs from different schools and rotaries, joined Rise Against Hunger to accomplish the organization’s mission to defeat world hunger by 2030. A plentiful amount of our Interact Club members came to this wonderful movement and worked their tails off! Students worked at food-packing stations, supplied ingredients for each station, weighed bags for its approved weight, sealed bags, and then boxed these food packs for shipping. Each bag of food contains rice, soy, vegetables, and a chicken-mineral packet. These bags provide six meals and the needed energy in order to function throughout the day.
Some people are not blessed to have food waiting for them when they get home. The organization’s goal is to put food into starving peoples’ stomachs all over the world. Today, November 1st, under the leadership of Mrs. Laura Taylor, our Interact Club speedily produced 20,000 meals in only two hours. These meals will be shipped to villages in need of food and, as the Interact Club and Rise Against Hunger hopes, make these families happy.
