
The MCHS Golden Aces Cheer team will host their annual summer cheer camp from June 3rd to June 6th, 2024. Forms will also be coming home from school in early May.

The MCHS Baseball game scheduled for today at home against Casey-Westfield will now start at 4:00pm at Dee White Field.

PSAT and SAT make-up tests will be given tomorrow morning in the library.
Illinois Science Assessment make-up tests will be given on Friday also in the Library.

Due to rain and previously postponed baseball games, the MCHS baseball team will now play two varsity games and 1 JV game tomorrow at Dee White Field. Schedule:
11:00am - Varsity Baseball vs Massac County.
1:30pm - JV Baseball vs Massac County.
4:00pm - Varsity Baseball vs Princeton.

The MCHS Baseball game scheduled for today at home against Princeton has been postponed. The baseball team will now be play at Newton today. The game will start at 4:30pm.

The MCHS Boys Tennis match scheduled for today at Olney has been postponed. This match will be rescheduled for Wednesday, April 17th at Olney.Â

The MCHS Softball game scheduled for today against Newton has been postponed. This game will be rescheduled on Tuesday, April 23rd in Mt. Carmel at 4:30pm.

The MCHS Boys Track Meet scheduled for today in Flora has been postponed. This meet will be rescheduled for Thursday, April 18th.

The rescheduled MCHS Girls Soccer match against Centralia that was originally rescheduled for May 2nd, will now be played on Friday, April 12th. The match will be on the turf at Mt. Carmel High School, beginning at 4:30pm.

Due to incoming weather this evening, the MCHS Softball game scheduled for today against Richland County will now begin at 4:00pm.

Wabash Valley College Music-Theatre Scholarship
The WVC Foundation Music-Theatre Scholarship is a one-year scholarship for a student interested in music and theatrical arts. Applications must be received by May 1, 2024. Awards will be determined at the end of the 2024 Spring Semester by the WVC Foundation and WVC Music-Theatre department staff for the following academic year. The WVC Music-Theatre Scholarship is a one-year $1,500.00 award with $750.00 being awarded directly to the recipient at the beginning of each semester for discretionary spending. Scholarships are for one-year, but a recipient may apply for a second year.
REQUIREMENTS:
The recipient of the scholarship will be required to work with the WVC Music and Theatre Specialist. This will include helping, in some capacity, with WVC locally produced music and theatre productions as a cast or band member, tech crew member, running crew member or assisting with promotions and house management. The recipient must work with and report to the Music and Theatre Specialist for selected assignments.
APPLICATIONS:
Applications are to be submitted to Dennis Stroughmatt, WVC Music and Theatre Specialist, either in a hard copy format or as electronic documents (stroughmattd@iecc.edu).
Applicants must submit a personal resume, a summation letter outlining the applicant's career goals, one high school or college transcript and a letter of reference from someone in the music and theatrical arts such as a band, choral or drama instructor, et cetera.
The second semester's $750.00 cash discretionary award will be dependent upon the recipient's successful completion of the fall semester assignment.

Koger Scholarships are for one year, but recipients may apply for a second year.

Recipients will have the educational opportunity to work with the WVC Brubeck Arts Centre House Manager/Producer. Recipients are required to work in some capacity with WVC/WVAC locally produced productions as a cast or band member, tech crew member, running crew member or assisting with promotions and house management. Recipients will work with the House Manager/Producer to select assignments and will be required to report regularly to the House Manager/Producer.
