Due to low numbers at Lawrenceville, the fresh/soph basketball game against Lawrenceville tonight has been CANCELLED.
The JV game will start at 6:15pm with the varsity game to follow. Come on out to the Hilltop tonight to watch your basketball Golden Aces!

The Woods Program has been fortunate enough to receive brand new workbenches and vices. We would like to say thank you to First Bank and District 348 for this wonderful addition to the shop and we look forward to seeing the projects that are built on them.

High School Athletic Announcement:
The high school girls basketball game scheduled for Thursday, December 9th at Edwards County will now be varsity ONLY. Due to low numbers at Edwards County, they do not have enough girls for a JV game. The varsity game will start at 6:15pm.

Spirit of Giving - Pictured is a crew from B & D Independence who donated the stair railings at the main entrance of the Mount Carmel Jr./Sr. High School. B & D Independence volunteered to do this as a community service project. It is great to have such wonderful community partners who give in many ways. Pictured from left to right is MCJSH Principal Andy Shelby, B & D Independence crew of Sean VanMatre, Tom Danielson, Jeffery Wallace, Dean Michels, and Allen Courtney, as well as the MCJSH Operations Officer Steve Holt.

There will be a freshman/sophomore boys basketball game against Lawrenceville on Friday, December 10th at 5:00pm BEFORE the scheduled JV and Varsity games. This game will be a shortened game with 5 minute quarters. The JV and Varsity games will follow.

The high school wrestling match against Lawrenceville scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th has been MOVED to Thursday, January 13th. The match will start at 6:00pm.

The WVC Priority Application Deadline for Round 2 will end on February 25th. The scholarships are renewable for up to four semesters — Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, not including summer courses. It's not too late to donate items for FBLA's #GivingTuesday campaign. Bring items to the powderpuff game on Monday or the day we return from break. Thank you to Mrs. Webb's 4th grade class for donating items to this great cause!


Mount Carmel High School and Wabash Valley College will host a FAFSA night on December 6th from 5:30-7:00 at MCHS for seniors and their parents needing assistance with the FAFSA application. The Interact Club at MCHS teamed up with Rise Against Hunger last Friday in Mount Vernon, IL. Students helped assemble food bags to send to countries around the world. They were able to bag 10,000 meals in a couple of hours. Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies.





The Wood Manufacturing 2 class had the opportunity to visit Trey and Kelsey Beckerman at Maple Hill Restorations. Trey and Kelsey explained and demonstrated how they strip, repair, and refurbish furniture. Maple Hill is an excellent example of a small business serving the local community.
