Girls Soccer meeting this Friday, February 7th, during advisory (2:48 p.m.). Meet in room 140 if you are interested in participating in MCHS Girls Soccer this spring.

Taco Tierra is offering a $1000 scholarship to a Mt. Carmel High School graduating senior who is attending Wabash Valley College, and is majoring in the field of nursing. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and the deadline is 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2020.

The MCHS Alumni Foundation will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a qualified male and female student from MCHS who meet the application requirements. Applications must be submitted to the Mt. Carmel High School Guidance Department no later than May 1, 2020.

Cade Newkirk, Senior at Mount Carmel High School, will sign a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for Wabash Valley College, Mt. Carmel IL. His signing will take place on Wednesday, February 5th at 3:30 pm in the Main Lobby at Mount Carmel High School. The community is invited to attend the signing.
Mark your calendars! The MCHS FBLA Dodgeball Tournament will be March 7, 2020 at 9:30 AM. Pre-register to get a discount and a guaranteed spot. Teams are formed on your own. T-shirt forms will be released soon. Packets will be at each school's office or Mrs. Witsman's room.
The Mt. Carmel High School Wrestling Match that was originally scheduled for tonight at Robinson, has been changed to a HOME match at Mt. Carmel High School. The match will start at 6:15.
Six MCHS music students and their teacher, Kim Mandrell, are attending the ILMEA Illinois Music Education Conference. Timothy Rosignol, Jonathon Bader, Ashley Majors, Hannah Shular, Jack Marvell, and Jonas Martin will be participating in various All State performances. Go Aces!
Seniors:
Albion Moose Lodge #621 is offering their Deceased Pilgrim Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2000 to a senior from Wayne, White, Wabash, Richland, or Edwards County. Edwards County Guidance Counselor, Kelley Biggs, will be the contact person to receive scholarship applications. Mrs. Biggs tracks the distribution of the applications so she is the only one who can deliver an application to students. She may be reached at 618-445-2325. During the judging the name of the student and school are not known to those doing the scoring; and, no personnel from ECHS is used in the judging.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to Mrs. Biggs or postmarked by March 17, 2020.

Beta Sigma Psi, a national Lutheran fraternity for collegiate men and alumni. offer several scholarships that are available to Lutheran men who will be starting college in Fall 2020. Alumni from the University of Illinois, Indiana University, and Purdue University will select well-qualified individuals to be honored with the Christian Leadership Award, a $1,500 scholarship towards the cost of tuition at the respective campus they will be attending.
They also offer the Martin Luther Scholarship; a $2000 award for young men attending their first year at any accredited 4-year college or university.
Applicants should be, confirmed members of the Lutheran congregation, and starting college in Fall 2020.
Deadline is February 15, 2020.

The Mt. Carmel High School Boys Basketball Team will be playing a HOME game at Mt. Carmel High School this Friday, January 31st vs Webber High School. The JV game will start at 6:00 and the Varsity game will start at 7:30. This contest was not on the original schedule.

Senior Males:
Males must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday—it’s the law. If you’re 17 years and 3 months old, you can submit registration information and when you’re 18, you’ll be registered automatically. If you fail to register, it will affect your ability to receive federal college loans, grants, student aid, and federal employment opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria
· The applicant must be a graduating senior from an IACAC member high school (Mrs. Paddick is an IACAC member) with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The applicant must enroll as a full-time, college freshman at a post-secondary institution in the 2020-2021 school year (preferably at an IACAC member institution); and
· The student must demonstrate involvement in high school, the community, or service to others with motivation to achieve personal goals.
· Scholarship is available to all eligible students regardless of citizenship or residency status

The Evansville Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 136 MCA-SI Training Trust Fund’s Apprenticeship program applications may be found online at www.ualocal136.org
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the indenture date, possess a high school diploma or GED by application deadline, provide proof of a valid driver’s license or state id, pass a valid 10-panel drug screen, receive approved scores on the WorkKeys test modules provided by WorkOne, and sit for an interview. Those applicants that are 17 years old at the time of application who otherwise meet all qualifications may apply, but must be 18 years of age prior to being indentured into the program.
Classes will begin in August 2020. Excellent wages offered, along with a substantial benefit package that can include health insurance, pension plans, and a vacation fund. Associate’s Degree awarded through Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana upon successful completion of five (5) year Apprenticeship Program.
Completed Application Packets should be submitted via upload to the website, mailed or hand-delivered to the Evansville Training Center location no later than Friday, March 6, 2020, for spring interviews or by Friday, August 7, 2020, for fall interviews.
