The Mount Carmel Jr. High Music Department was chosen as a grant recipient of the Peter R. Marsh Foundation. They were awarded $1,250 to be used for instruments, instrument repairs, and supplies. This grant is to encourage performances at local nursing homes, senior citizen centers, assisted living facilities, and interactions with our seniors. According to the grant providers, “The purpose of the Middle School Music Grant is to provide a remarkable venue and experience for students where their emotional senses are awakened and they are inspired to advance musically, scholastically, and socially. Additionally, the Grant provides for the acquisition of in-school music classroom equipment and supplies.”
Mrs. Wall says, "Performing for our seniors is something we already enjoy doing because it is beneficial for both the students and our senior community members. This grant will hopefully take this to the next level. We look forward to several performances with different ensembles for our seniors this year!"
