JUNIOR & SENIOR CONCERT FESTIVAL
Wabash District #348 music students will once again be represented at the upcoming 2024 Illinois Music Education Association District 5 Junior & Senior Concert Festival, which will be held at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, on Saturday, November 23rd. Placement for ILMEA is made through a stringent online audition process, and being selected for a district ensemble reflects the high standards established for and by the Student, Director, and School District.
About 10,000 Junior High and Senior High students will participate in similar events held in nine geographic Districts throughout the State. From that number, only 1,250 senior high students will be chosen for membership in one of ten performing organizations at the Illinois “All-State” Music Conference in Peoria, January 29-Feb 1st, 2024. In addition to performances by the All-State musical ensembles, the annual Conference also included over 125 “in-service” professional development workshops for the music educators attending and an extensive music industry trade show demonstrating the latest in music education materials, instruments, and technology.
