
Children's author, Jan Brett, was in Albion, Wednesday, December 4th. Two of MCES Kindergarten teachers were lucky enough to go meet her, purchase her book and have it autographed. She presented on her newest book "Tale of the Tiger Slipper", she is also the illustrator of her books. The kindergarten teachers do a unit on her "The Mitten" book. Way to go Mrs. Hagerty and Mrs. Satava.



MCES Menu Change - Monday, December 9th - Fish Sticks instead of corn dogs.

MCES was blessed to have their Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast. Mrs. Odom was able to get a picture if some of the students. Love my job!





Don't forget the Penguin Patch starts Monday after Thanksgiving break. Each classroom has a scheduled time and this went home on Monday. Students will be allowed to shop for small gifts for their parents. This will be fun for them to be able to give back.


A very special thank you to the Blake family, the community and all the hard workers at Taco Tierra for making MCES Taco Night a success. The school received $758.93 to be placed in the technology fund. Thank you very much to the faculty and staff who served.


Mount Carmel Preschool for All's annual Family Feast event will be held on Monday, November 25th, at 5:30 pm in the MCES Cafeteria. After a hearty meal, the preschool singers will perform a medley of Thanksgiving songs!

MCES celebrate "World Kindness Day" on Wednesday, November 13th and in honor of Mr. Rogers, a gentleman who taught about kindness every weekday we wore our cardigans.

Due to the cold temperatures and possible hazardous roads MCES Taco Night at Taco Tierra has been rescheduled for Thursday, November 21st from 5 - 8. Thank you and stay safe.

MCES Kindergarten students learned so much on Veterans Day! They learned who veterans are, the 5 branches of the military, the flag and what it represents, The Star Spangled Banner and how to show respect.





Ms. Bruce's 2nd grade class posed with the veteran pictures they brought in to share of a family member or members who either are serving or had served. MANY THANKS TO OUR VETERANS!!


Mr. Rogers Day - Wednesday, November 13th. This is a day of kindness, which is MCES theme this year. MCES is helping to promote "Kindness".


MCES will be sending a yellow paper home today reminding you of the parent survey we really need you to complete. This is the same survey that has been on the Wabash Facebook page so if you have completed it already thank you. If you complete the survey and return the bottom portion of the letter with your child, you will be entered in a drawing and your child will receive a small treat. Thank you


As a part of their letter writing lesson, Ms. Bruce's 2nd graders each wrote a letter of thanks to different veterans. Various veterans in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Washington and South America will receive a letter.


This is a reminder that Wabash CUSD #348 schools are in session on Monday, November 11th Veterans Day. Different teachers will be recognizing Veterans in their classrooms.

Taco Tierra will be sponsoring a fund raiser for MCES on Tuesday, November 12th. Please come through the drive up window or inside between 5 - 8 p.m. to help support MCES Technology. The faculty and staff will be there to help serve you.

Attendance incentives: If a child has two or fewer absences in a quarter, their name is placed in a drawing. Ten names are drawn per quarter - First Quarter winners are: Kyrie, Reise, Rex, Kyla, Zachary, Willow,Tyler, Madison & Phillip. One student not present at drawing.


Today Officer Erin Peach from the MCPD talked to the 2nd graders in compliance with Erin's Law about good touch, bad touch, what to do in an emergency along with having a safe person they can trust. Thank you Officer Peach for doing a fabulous job with helping keeping our kids safe!




The 2nd Grade students had a Smokehouse presentation by the MCFD. The students learned the importance of having working smoke detectors throughout their homes.
