MCHS Parking Pass Press Release
New this year at MCHS will be an increase from $10 to $15 for student parking. The fee is used to cover parking lot maintenance, striping, numbering, parking blocks and placards.
Also new this year will be how parking passes will be sold. We will be utilizing Vanco, an online sales service, to assist with the purchasing of parking passes. This is similar to what is used to sell MCHS musical tickets.
Sales for all seniors will begin July 23rd. Sales for juniors and sophomores, with a license, will follow senior sales. Once sales open, it is a first come first serve basis. Students will need to check their school email on Monday, July 22nd after 12:00pm to get more details for purchasing their parking pass.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Due to asphalt paving, tomorrow Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 the area used for student parking east of the senior lot (gravel parking) will be closed including the area of Plum Street. This will impact the east entrance (Plum Street) to the senior lot, but will not close the senior lot. The 3rd street entrance to the senior lot will be open, but can be very congested. It would be best to avoid this area at all costs the remainder of the week and early next week until we are given the "all clear". Thanks, I hope you are having a fun and safe summer.
The Golden Aces Baseball team has advanced to the Super Sectional! They will play at Itchy Jones Stadium on the campus of Southern Illinois University on Monday, May 27th at 2:00pm. The Golden Aces Baseball team will play in the Sectional Championship on Saturday, May 25th against the Nashville Hornets at 11:00am. The game will be held at the Benton City Park in Benton, IL. The attached photo has a QR Code to get your tickets if you wish to buy them online for $7. Your other option is paying $8 at the gate.
Summer school schedules for high school students have been entered! Please have your student check their Skyward to see their schedule. Summer school students will need to report on Tuesday, May 28th.
MCHS Golden Aces Volleyball Camp will be held June 19th-21st. The camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game of volleyball and will be instructed by the MCHS Coaching Staff and players. The MCHS Baseball team will be playing in the Class 2A Benton Sectional. They are scheduled to play Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30pm in Benton, against the DuQuoin Indians. (Weather Permitting)

Summer school schedule for core classes

There will be some changes to summer school this school year at MCHS. We will be offering the following core subjects: Science, English, Math, and American History. Summer school will run from Tuesday, May 28th to Thursday, June 27th, with classes scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 12 PM. There will be a requirement of having at least a 30% for the 2nd semester in order to attend summer school. Priority will be given in this order: Juniors, Sophomores, then Freshman
Driver's Ed will also be offered during the summer.
Students must sign up in the Guidance Office!

The IHSA Regional Softball game scheduled for today between Mt. Carmel and Benton will now start at 3:15pm at The 4th Street Ballpark in Mt. Carmel.
"Wabash General Hospital will proudly offer FREE sports physicals for 2024-2025 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders on Wednesday May 15th 8:00am-4:00pm at Mt. Carmel High School. The following link allows you to complete the waiver for consent to complete the physical at school as well as your child(ren)'s medical history for our medical providers to review.
