Thursday's directives, sent out by the governor, provided some clarity for the schools moving into May. We appreciate everyone's patience and support through this time where a lot of important events are in the balance. We plan to put out a release on Monday or Tuesday regarding the collecting of materials, gradecards, awards ceremonies, graduation, and other related topics.

Congratulations to Mr. Michael Gordon, English Teacher at MCHS!! Mr. Gordon was the recipient of a Claes Nobel Education of Distinction Award by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). He is recognized among educators for outstanding efforts in supporting and growing both the academic and personal successes of students to make a positive impact in the global community. We are so proud and grateful to have his talents in our school district.
A MEMO FROM THE MCHS PROM COMMITTEE:
The Mt. Carmel High School Prom has officially been postponed from its original date of May 2, 2020. This decision comes regardless of any updates to the Governor’s stay-at-home directive that currently runs through the month of April. We have every intention of holding the dance and associated events at a later date, likely in June or July. When the decision is made, there will be ample time between then and the new date to make preparations including getting fitted for a tuxedo, ordering flowers, and other tasks that require lead time, communication, and planning.

From the APP, it can be accessed through the Wabash Community Unit School District #348 and choose the COVID-19 INFO from the Menu. Please understand that this is a new, ongoing learning process for everyone. The administration is working on all the details as the information becomes available from the Illinois School Board of Education. Thank you for your patience.
A note from the Superintendent:
Today, March 20, 2020, Governor Pritzker ordered a shelter-in-place for Illinois. All Illinois schools, including Wabash CUSD #348, will be closed until April 8th. The state will re-evaluate the situation at that time. During that time, Wabash CUSD #348 will be on spring break. Therefore, the schools are tentatively scheduled to reopen on April 13th. Additionally, we will remain committed to continuing our remote learning opportunities for our students. As the Illinois State Board of Education delivers more guidance, we will be able to better address our situation moving forward. Thank you for all your support in this difficult matter as we continue to work through uncharted waters. Stay safe and Go Aces!
