· Award is only for courses taken at OCC.
· Books and other fees are not covered

MCHS Halloween captures!!


ATTENTION: There are still various purchased MCHS 2018-2019 Yearbooks, Senior Pictures & Prom Pictures left in the high school office that have not been picked up. These need to be picked up as soon as possible.

The MCHS Lady Aces Volleyball team defeated Hamilton County in the Class 2A Regional Semi-Final match last night. The Lady Aces continue on and play Massac County for the Regional Championship on Thursday, October 31, at 6:00pm. Congrats ladies!! Go Aces!

SENIORS: FAFSA completion is still needed by most Seniors!!! College representatives are recommending you complete the FAFSA by October 31.

SSG Travis Stamp visited Mrs. Deisher's English class today. He shared lessons learned from the 15th SMA Daniel Dailey.


The MCHS FBLA #GivingTuesday campaign this year will be collecting donations for the Wabash County Animal Shelter. Please consider beginning this season of giving by donating needed items to a great cause!


MCHS SCHOLASTIC BOWL MEETING: There will be a meeting Thursday for anyone who is interested in being in the high school scholastic bowl this year. It is an informational meeting in Mr. Mandrell's Room in the Library #225 during Advisory Period.

Seniors Elliott Laws, Cade Newkirk, and Kyle Kline visited Mrs. Hagerty's kindergarten class on Thursday to read funny Halloween stories.

Jr/Sr High Halloween Guidelines: Students may dress up on Thursday only given (1) The regular dress code still governs length of shorts/skirts, content of the message, etc. (2) No paint or mask that covers the face (3) No weapons (real or fake) (4) Ultimately, nothing that distracts from the learning environment

There will be a FBLA meeting Wednesday during advisory in the auditorium.

Congratulations to the MCHS Cross Country Team. They took 7th place at their Regionals this morning and move on to Sectionals next Saturday, November 2. Go Aces!


IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING CROSS COUNTRY MEET SATURDAY:
Due to possible weather issues, we have been told that if the decision is made that the course is unsafe to run, it will be made a road race with the following instructions:
1. please have your runners have their spikes and running shoes so they are ready for either course.
2. we will open the gym for teams to come in and stretch before the race (please no spikes in the gym)
3. we will open the P.E. locker rooms so runners can go in and change after the race, so they are not in wet clothes. The showers will be available if they would like to shower but they will need to bring their own towel.
4. We will start the girls race at 10:00 sharp and then start the boys race at exactly 15 minutes after the girls race has started.
5. After the conclusion of both races, the officials will review the video finish and then the results will be posted for 15 minutes in the coaches office in the northeast corner of the gym.
6. Awards will take place in the gym at the conclusion.
7. Concession stand will be open in the gym.
8. Restrooms will be available in the gym.
9. T-Shirts will be sold for $17.00 and sold in the concession stand.

Mrs. Witsman's Computer Applications class started their Children's Story project. Each group has the opportunity to write and illustrate their own stories using Google Slides to make an interactive presentation or augmented reality video!

Mount Carmel High School is hosting a brief assembly for the Lady Aces Golf Team on Thursday, October 24. The assembly will begin at 2:45pm at which time the Lady Aces will present their IHSA Runner-Up Trophy to the school. The community is invited to attend this short assembly.

FFA HIT THEIR GOAL!! Mt. Carmel High School FFA raised $2130 with their Fish Fry. Many thanks to donors, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came and enjoyed the fish. Because of fundraising, EVERY Ag student becomes an FFA MEMBER FREE OF CHARGE! Members are given countless opportunities throughout the year. Congratulations to Draper Alka who sold the most fish fry tickets!!

Congratulations to our Mt. Carmel High School Girls Golf team who came in 2nd at the October 18-19 IHSA State Playoffs! We are so proud! Go Aces!!
